In the 1940’s, a man leaves his work chopping fish heads and cleaning up the waste to work the fields on land that eventually becomes his own. His wife, tired and worn, works hand in hand by his side, questioning whether it was right to have left their home by the sea in exchange for a harsh world where the scales that weigh their harvest often tilt against them. But she comes to see his pride in working his own land and shares in his vision for building a life with their own two hands.
