Tom DeMuro is a recently retired educator who credits his 34 years in the field and the countless number of students he has had the pleasure of working with for the inspiration for his plays. He is the co-founder and director of JAG (Jefferson Actors Guild), a unique drama experience for elementary aged students renowned in his community for including students of all learning styles. As a director, he has staged over 15 productions, three of which he has written. When he began to find it increasingly difficult to find scripts suitable for large cast school plays, he decided to take a colleagues' advice to "just write it yourself".

Tom's career was split between classroom teaching and his role as elementary counselor. His passion for social justice and his keen sense of humor are clearly visible in his writing and have always proved to be a winning combination for a successful school production.

In addition to writing, Tom spends his time traveling, exercising and most importantly – growing in his faith. His wife and two sons are singers and musicians and, well…since he can’t carry a tune or play an instrument, he writes.
