Edward J. Walsh
Playwright, editor and journalist, Edward J. Walsh has worn many hats during his career as a writer. At publications such as “Business Week,” “The Plain Dealer” and “Cleveland Magazine,” he has served as a general assignment reporter, business reporter and editor.
In addition, he has written and produced programming for National Public Radio, and contributed to, or served as editor for, several books. His efforts also include work with film, as well as a stint as a travel writer. Yet, in the midst of all this, Walsh has always returned to writing for the theater.
A member of the Dramatists Guild, he has written a number of plays, often in collaboration with Robert Thomas Noll. Their work has been produced Off-off Broadway, and at a number of other venues. “Two Can Play,” based on one of their plays, was produced at The Barter Theatre in Virginia, and again in Kansas City, featuring Hayley Mills. Most recently, Walsh’s play “Road Kill” was performed as part of the Colombi New Plays Festival at Ensemble Theatre, in Cleveland. He is a member of Ensemble's Stagewrights, which provides playwrights with a supportive environment in which to write and develop their work.
A graduate of John Carroll University, Walsh resides in Northeast Ohio, where he is currently at work on his next play.
