Hilary Scarlett White
Hilary Scarlett White is a professional writer and editor from San Diego whose work has been published in books, newspapers, online publications, and magazines including Westways, Pages, the literary magazine for people who love books, and Professionals Women’s Magazine. She was formerly the editor of and chief contributor to Magill’s Cinema Annual. Hilary has written three novels, The Shake & Grind, I blog u 2 death (a dark comedy loosely based on Macbeth) and Sycorax, a retelling of The Tempest. She graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English.
Hilary is also an actor, whose favorite roles include Titania/Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Orlando in As You Like It, Thea in Hedda Gabler, Gillian in Bell, Book and Candle, the title role in Tiresias the Harlot, Joan La Pucelle (Joan of Arc) in Henry VI Part I, and Sarah Bernhardt in The Complete History of Theatre (abridged).
She previously served as Director of Communications and Fundraising for Poor Players Theatre Company, Marketing Director of New Fortune Theatre Company, and as Associate Artistic Director for Point Loma Playhouse.
Her new full-length, original romantic comedy Houdini’s on First was inspired by the magic that is theatre.
