Robert Thomas Noll has spent many years in professional theater, TV and film, as a writer, producer, director, stage manager and actor. He has won over 34 national and international awards including nine Emmys and a Silver Medal at the International Film and Television Festival of New York.

He has written 32 produced plays (many written with Edward J. Walsh). His plays have been performed throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. He has had six off-off Broadway productions. Eleven of his plays have been published. In TV, he is best known for producing and writing the NBC nationally syndicated children’s series, “Hickory Hideout.” Five of his screenplays have been produced as films. Noll is a full-time college professor at John Carroll University’s Tim Russert Department of Communication & Theatre Arts. He spent nearly 20 years teaching playwriting at the Cleveland Play House.

He has been a Public Relations and Marketing Consultant for 35 Broadway shows national tours. He has worked professionally at the Cleveland Play House, Hanna Theater, Kenley Players, Cleveland Ballet, PlayhouseSquare, Great Lakes Theater Festival and Musicarnival.

He has written and edited publications for the Education Department at PlayhouseSquare and Radio City Music Hall. He also has been coordinator for the Cleveland Chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists Urban Journalism program. He is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists, College Media Advisers, and Society for Collegiate Journalists, Alpha Sigma Nu (Jesuit Honor Society) and is a member of the Dramatist Guild. He has degrees from Kent State University and Ohio University.
